Background

Founded in May 1951, Wichita Area Builders Association represents professionals across the residential building industry and associated industries in south central Kansas, promoting advocacy, education, workforce development, and community engagement. Wesley “Wess” Galyon was hired as WABA’s President & CEO in 1986. He led a capital campaign at the turn of the century, along with Steve Robl and other senior members at the time, which led to the financing and construction of WABA’s headquarters. The building was completed and opened in 2001. WABA’s Board of Directors named Galyon as President Emeritus in March 2025. Galyon plans to retire on February 27, 2026.
